A message from the Texas Department of Emergency Management:
VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER IS FORECAST FOR THE IDENTIFIED AREAS. CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL ALIGN WITH EXTREMELY DRY GRASS BRUSH AND TIMBER VEGETATION. INCREASED WIND SPEEDS ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL STORM HAROLD WILL EXCEED CRITICAL THRESHOLDS OF 15-20 MPH AND CONTRIBUTE TO WORSENING FIRE CONDITIONS.
ANY IGNITION THAT OCCURS UNDER THESE CONDITIONS MAY RESULT IN WILDFIRES THAT BURN INTENSELY AND EXHIBIT EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR. THESE FIRES ARE ALSO LIKELY TO BE RESISTANT TO FIREFIGHTERS SUPPRESSION EFFORTS.

The City purchases electricity from GEXA Energy and Taylor Electric Cooperative. In Calendar Year 2022, the City purchased a total of 493,440 kilowatt-hours.
The City purchases water from the City of Abilene. In Calendar Year 2022, the City purchased a total of 129,313,000 gallons of water.
The total cost of natural gas, electricity, and water purchased by the City in the Calendar Year 2022 is $664,757.22.
