The Merkel City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 18, 2019 in observance of Presidents’ Day.  We will reopen on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 with regular business hours.

The Merkel City Council will meet on February 19, 2019, 6:30 PM in the Heritage Hall, 111 Taylor Street, Merkel.

The City of Merkel purchases natural gas from Atmos Energy.  In Calendar Year 2018, the City purchased a total of 5,874 thousand cubic feet (MCF) of natural gas.

The City purchases electricity from GEXA Energy.  In Calendar Year 2018, the City purchased a total of 367,844 kilowatt hours.

The City purchases water from the City of Abilene. In Calendar Year 2018, the City purchased a total of 78,887,000 gallons of water.

The total cost of natural gas, electricity, and water purchased by the City in the Calendar Year 2018 is $524,021.16.
