Now Accepting Merkel Economic Development Corporation Board Applications
The Merkel City Council is now accepting applications for Board Members for the Merkel Economic Development Corporation.
The EDC is a type B, nonprofit corporation under the City of Merkel created to promote, assist and enhance economic development within the Merkel City Limits.
The EDC board is a two year volunteer position on a seven member board that typically meets on the first Monday of every month at 6:00pm at Heritage Hall. The Board has by-laws and attendance requirements.
Minimum Requirements: You must live in Taylor County, or be 10 miles or less from City Limits. You must serve or have served in a leadership position at a company/business, pass a background check, and must demonstrate a commitment to Merkel.
If interested please submit a Cover Letter and Resume to City Hall before 5:00pm on Friday October 9th. Please be sure to include why you are interested in serving, connections to Merkel, educational background and any experience with reviewing or negotiating agreements, economic development, financing, legal, or banking.
